Byron Schlenker has the widest tongue in the world measuring at a whopping 8.6 cm.
His tongue is the same width as a beer can, and larger than an iPhone 6.
Byron’s daughter, Emily Schlenker, has the widest tongue in the world for a female, not far behind her father at 7.3 cm.

The tongue is a unique organ, and many people can do some extraordinary things with them.
Some of us can roll them, some people can make weird shapes, but a few select people out there have extremely large tongues.
Most often when we think about a large tongue, we think about length.
However, this father and daughter hold the Guinness World Record for having the widest tongues on the planet.
Byron Schlenker, a native of Syracuse, New York, realized that he had a unique gift while helping his daughter with a school project.
After investigating a Guinness Book of World Records, Byron thought his oversized tongue was something special.
Since then, he has been officially crowned the world record holder for having the widest tongue at an impressive 8.6 cm.
“To give you a reference of how big my tongue is it’s eight-point six centimeters “explains Byron to Travis Hoefle from iwonder TV.
“One thing that people can compare my tongue too, and they readily have as an iPhone 6.“
Amazingly enough, the Guinness World Record for the widest female tongue in the world belongs to Byron’s own teenage daughter, Emily Schlenker.
Emily’s tongue is just as impressive as her father’s measuring in at 7.3 cm, a bit larger than a credit card.
“I think having this record has brought me in my dad a bit closer we’ve been doing videos and shows, and it’s just been really fun to do this together,” says Emily.
Being able to share this experience as a father-daughter duo has been exciting for both widest tongue record holders.
It has become a special opportunity for the two to bond in a way that the rest of us may never experience.
Byron says, “That’s been the best part of all of it all. She has a lot of fun with it… and who can say they’ve been in the Guinness Book of World Records it’s really a treat. It’ll be a memory that Emily and I will share forever.“
All of the attention and excitement over Byron’s widest tongue world record has made him a bit of a celebrity in his hometown.
Despite the many appearances, pictures, and interviews, Byron and Emily keep a light heart about everything and enjoy showing their tongues to whomever wishes.
“You got to look on the bright side of life or anything, and my favorite line of any movie of my life is, “a little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men,” and that’s from Willy Wonka.
